Echeveria

Hundreds of hybrids make up the succulent perennials of the Echeveria genus. All grow in rosettes of leaves that can be wavy, smooth, crinkled, or furry. Leaf color can be green, blue green, grey, and all types of shadings. Echeverias produce flowers on pendulous spikes held above the foliage. Flower color can be yellow, red, orange or pink. All are highly prized for use alone in containers or with other succulents in mixed plantings. Use in rock gardens, surrounded by gravel to show off their form and color. Plant in full sun to part shade especially in hot valley areas where reflection form hot surfaces can damage the succulent foliage. Require little to moderate water with well draining soil.
